13WMAZ has been Central Georgia’s trusted source for news and entertainment since September 27, 1953, when it became the area’s first VHF television station. Our roots trace back even further, to 1922, with WMAZ Radio—originally a physics project at Mercer University. Our call letters stand for 'Watch Mercer Attain Zenith,' reflecting our long-standing commitment to excellence.
We’ve been pioneers in the region, becoming the first to broadcast in color, deliver a digital TV signal, and air locally-produced high-definition programs. Affiliated with CBS for over 60 years, we also offer The CW Network on WMAZ-13.2, ensuring our viewers have a variety of entertainment options.
TEGNA Inc., our parent company, is dedicated to the greater good of the communities it serves. We pride ourselves on delivering empowering stories, impactful investigations, and innovative marketing solutions. Our commitment to Central Georgia remains as strong as ever, coming 'Straight from the Heart,' because This is Home.
Trying to read anything on their site is impossible with those nonstop videos that just keep playing, and there's nothing you can do to stop 'em. Plus, that annoying sidebar hogs the whole screen. But hey, maybe it doesn't even matter since their content is terrible anyway. All they seem to talk about is which black person got a free house or some other thing like that. You'd think white people don't even exist around here if you're going by what wmaz reports.
While the site is full of good info, my time using it was awful. Videos start playing non-stop each time I try to read something. I pause one, scroll a bit, and suddenly there's another video playing. It's terribel. Such a drain on my mobile data.
